We finally got some much-needed rain this week, but we also got some nasty winds. This part of our sweet corn patch was almost ready to be picked, and the wind knocked it flat. If the stalks aren’t too broken, the corn will survive and continue to grow… if the raccoons don’t get to it first!
Lucky for us, the sweet corn isn’t how we make our living, it’s just something we grow for fun. We eat a bunch, cook with a bunch, freeze a bunch, and then give away or sell the rest! But if this was our big crop for the year, our family would be in big trouble! Farmers really are at Mother Nature’s mercy all year long.
So to calm some of the sweet corn-related stress, we’ve got a meal plan this week packed with simple recipes that you can make in a hurry!
