I used to be die-hard about only making snack mixes in the oven. Then I discovered that I could do it in the slow cooker. Then I discovered that I could do it in the microwave. Now I can’t imagine why I ever insisted that I could only use the oven in the first place!
When it takes an hour in the oven, and only 3 minutes in the microwave, how can you argue with that?!
The recipe that started all of my snack mix experimenting was another simple microwave one. These Garlic-Parmesan Pretzels are so good!
The ranch flavor in this makes it so much fun… I keep a big container of this Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing Mix in our spice cabinet. Because, let’s face it, when you have a small person in the house, you eat a lot of ranch-flavored things.
You can use whatever crackers you want in this recipe. I like the Keebler Club Mini Crackers (the multi-grain kind holds up better). You can never go wrong with Bugles – those were a childhood favorite of mine! And I just love the Baby Goldfish in this recipe. They are such a fun size to eat. And just look at how cute they are!
