You guys. I love these Bacon Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes so much! They are so easy to make, and so delicious that you won’t have any leftovers!
If you like to cook your bacon in the oven (like I do), the bacon will cook while you’re making the rest of this meal. If you prefer to cook your bacon on the stove, cook it first and set it aside. Drain the bacon grease out of the skillet, and then brown the ground beef right in the same skillet!
If you don’t have “Mom Knows Best” from Gooseberry Patch, you definitely need to get yourself a copy! This recipe originally appeared in this cookbook. I tweaked it a little bit, to fit what our family likes to eat. But the bones of the recipe are the same. Your family will love everything in this cookbook, just like mine does!
The sauce for the ground beef has ketchup, a hint of mustard (add more if you like mustard, or leave it out if don’t like it), Worcestershire sauce, a hint of sweetness, and plenty of cheese. Don’t forget to add in the crumbled bacon!
If you like pickles on your cheeseburgers, you should definitely layer some pickles on this sandwich! I like the Vlasic Stackers for sandwiches like this. And even though there is cheese in the beef mixture, I topped our burgers with even more shredded cheese. When you serve everything right out of the skillet, the meat is warm enough to get the cheese all melty and delicious.
Enjoy!
