Pepperoni pizza is great… but when every Friday night is pepperoni pizza night, it can get a little old. This Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese is a fun change for your next pizza night. Or make it for lunch for a fun treat that everyone will love!
Don’t get me wrong, I love pepperoni pizza as much as the next girl. And I love a classic melty grilled cheese. So when you mix them both together, it’s pretty much heaven!
This sandwich is easy enough that you can make it any time; yummy enough that your kids will love it; and “grown up” enough that it’s a treat for you, too!
I used Sara Lee Artesano Bakery Bread for this sandwich. One thing I love about “grown up grilled cheese” sandwiches is experimenting with different kinds of bread. (Because sometimes you want something more than plain white bread!)
We also love using the Hormel Pepperoni Minis. They are so much fun to eat because they are so tiny! Our son will eat them by the handful!
How To Make a Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Heat your sandwich on low.
The more goodies you stuff inside your sandwich, and the thicker your bread, the harder it is to get the center of the sandwich hot and melty. If you cook the sandwich on medium heat (or higher), the bread will get burned before the inside of the sandwich is hot.
Cook your sandwich on low heat. This will heat up the inside of the sandwich and get the outside of the bread toasted golden-brown about the same time.
Enjoy!

On Pinterest I recently discovered that instead of buttering the bread for a grilled cheese sandwich, use mayonnaise. I have tried this & it is soooo yummy. You really can’t taste the mayo that much, but the browning of the bread is great!

I have heard about that, but haven’t tried it yet. I’m glad to hear that it doesn’t taste too much like mayo, that was holding me back from checking it out!
