We love mac & cheese! It may not be the first thing you think of when you think about party food, but set up a Macaroni & Cheese Bar like this one, and you’ve got the beginnings of a really delicious party!

We started with Creamy Crock Pot Macaroni & Cheese and Garlic-Parmesan Macaroni & Cheese. Then we just went nuts with topping options!

The fun thing about a Mac & Cheese Bar is that you can use any toppings that sound good! Of course, you need more cheese. Shredded Cheddar and shredded Mexican blend cheese are two simple options. We also put out some crumbled Feta and crumbled Bleu cheese (if you like stinky cheeses).

And some meat, too! Bacon is a must-have topping for macaroni and cheese. We also like Hormel Pepperoni Minis, ground beef, and chopped Kielbasa sausage.

Then use your imagination! I crushed Fritos, Chili Cheese Fritos, and Cheddar Rold Gold Pretzels. I also found some Cauliflower Crumbles from Green Giant – it looked so fun, I knew we had to try it. It was so good on top of the mac & cheese!

Who would think that sunflower seeds would be good on mac & cheese? You might be surprised – it was delicious!

The sky is the limit here – you can put anything you want on top of macaroni and cheese! Use your imagination, browse at your grocery store, and go for broke. Next time, we’ll be using crumbled Doritos, buttered breadcrumbs, and maybe even these Maple-Glazed Carrots.

Decorate your table for whatever kind of party you’re having! Birthday party? Tailgate party? Holiday party? Go nuts with decorations, or keep it plain and simple when you have a few friends over for dinner. It’s your party, you decide!

What is your favorite topping for macaroni and cheese?

Enjoy!

[…] Serve these meatballs over rice or pasta for a main dish, or use a big stack of toothpicks to serve them as appetizers or for part of your tailgate party. They would also be a great addition to a Macaroni & Cheese Bar! […]
