Have you ever needed to do measurement math in the middle of cooking? This free printable chart will make kitchen measurement conversions a piece of cake!
How to Convert Kitchen Measurements
{Referral links are used in this post.}
Have you ever found yourself needing to figure out how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon? Or how many cups are in a quart? It happens to me all the time. Sometimes I’m trying to double a recipe. Sometimes my most-used measuring cups are dirty, and I just don’t want to wash them! Then I have to look it up, and do some math. Who has time to do math when you’re trying to get dinner on the table? Not me.
So I put all my common kitchen measurements in the same place, did some math for easy conversion of measurements, and made a handy printable for you!
How many teaspoons are in a tablespoon?
So… how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon? Three. And 8 Tablespoons makes 1/2 cup – you don’t need to count to 8, and likely lose track!
How many cups are in a gallon?
For some reason, this is one I can never remember. There are 16 cups in a gallon. And 4 cups in a quart. That should be easy math, but when my son is tired and hungry, and I’m impatient and hungry, and my husband is on his way home from work? 4 times 4 just seems too much to handle. So don’t do the math anymore – download your free printable cheat sheet here and stash it in your kitchen!

Thanks for this measurement page. I also have difficulty in converting grams into American cups, teaspoons, etc. There have been some really good sounding recipes I have come across but cannot use them because they are in grams and I do not know how to convert to my American measurements. I would appreciate any guidance you could give me.

That’s a good question, Paula! I’ll look into the grams to cups conversions and see if I can write another post for it!
