Who hasn’t had this happen? You are all set to make your favorite recipe… but at the last minute you change your mind because you don’t want to deal with the sticky mess that’s left after you measure out that one ingredient. You know the one, the one that leaves your measuring cup, counter, and spoons a sticky mess.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a simple way to measure out sticky ingredients without all that mess?

There is!

All you have to do is spray the inside of your measuring cup or spoon with a little cooking spray. That sticky ingredient will slide right out without leaving a sticky mess behind!

How to Measure Honey

We love honey-BBQ recipes around here. But that honey is so sticky to clean up! Make clean up easy by spraying the measuring spoon with cooking spray before you measure the honey.

The honey will easily slide out into your bowl, and the measuring spoon won’t be sticky!

How to Measure Maple Syrup

Anytime I cook, I use real maple syrup. Those bottled “breakfast syrups” just don’t quite cut it for me. The problem is, real maple syrup is so sticky, it can be a pain to measure. A quick spray of cooking spray in the measuring spoon and the sticky problem is solved.

The maple syrup easily slides right out of the spoon into the bowl with no sticky residue left!

How to Measure Peanut Butter

Ah, peanut butter. It is so delicious but so difficult to measure! After you get it into the measuring spoon or cup, it’s a challenge to get it all out, and there is always lots of peanut butter left inside the measuring cup. Spray your measuring cup and the spoon you are using to scoop the peanut butter out of the jar with cooking spray, and clean up will be a breeze.

You may have to use a spoon or a spatula to start getting the peanut butter out of your measuring spoon, but then it should slide right out.

You can use this tip on any sticky ingredient – molasses, marshmallow fluff, sweet sorghum syrup, corn syrup – it works with everything!

Enjoy!
