I used to think ribs were so hard to make! If you don’t cook them long enough, they are tough and chewy. If you cook them too long, they are dry and chewy. Sounds like it would be tough to get them just right, doesn’t it? Well, not with your Instant Pot! Make a simple sauce, put it all in your Instant Pot, and with the press of a few buttons, you’re ready to go!
This recipe is adapted from our Oven-Baked Honey-BBQ Ribs. They are such a big hit – in our house and on our blog! – I knew I had to adapt the recipe to our Instant Pot. Wow, is it simple!
I made more sauce for the Instant Pot version of the recipe than I did for the oven-baked version of the recipe. But can you ever really have too much sauce on your ribs? Nope, I didn’t think so!!
How Long Do You Cook Ribs in an Instant Pot?
It takes about an hour from the time you turn on your Instant Pot to the time you can eat these tender, delicious ribs. (See the printable recipe card below for details.) But since the oven-baked version takes a good 2 hours to cook, it still saves you a bunch of time!
I couldn’t believe how perfectly these ribs came out! Fork-tender, fall-off-the-bone, and so flavorful! Use a fork (no need for a knife), or use your fingers… Either way you’ll want to lick up every last drop of that Honey-BBQ sauce!
Don’t believe how easy it is? Watch this quick video to see!
Enjoy!

Do you add any liquid such as beef broth for instant pot?
Marybeth Feutz says
Nope, the honey and barbecue sauce mixture is enough to create steam and build the pressure.
