As a new mom, I have really struggled to get meals on the table. I need something that doesn’t take a lot of time to put together, and that doesn’t need a lot of attention while it’s cooking. Bonus points if it’s an easy clean up! “Mom Knows Best” from Gooseberry Patch has made mealtime around here so much easier! I love this cookbook so much, I have a copy to give away to one lucky reader!
The Recipes
With a busy toddler in the house, this work-at-home mom doesn’t cook much of anything these days unless it is fast and easy. Gooseberry Patch to the rescue! “Mom Knows Best” is full to the brim with recipes that are both fast and easy. So far, Farmer Doc and I have loved everything I’ve made. (Baby Doc is in that toddler/teething phase of picky eating, so we’re not taking his opinions very seriously right now.) Most of the recipes are so easy that kids can even help out!
Let’s review what I’ve cooked so far, shall we?
We kicked off the week with this hearty breakfast – Pumpkin Pie Baked Oatmeal.
Then this super-cozy comfort food, Mashed Potato & Ham Soup.
These Garlic-Parmesan Pretzels are the perfect pick-me-up snack on a busy afternoon!
These Cheeseburger Cups will liven up your next burger night!
And these Chocolate Chip-Oatmeal Cookies are an (almost) healthy treat for the whole family!

I like making chili bake we were told about it when on weight watchers. All you do is dump 2 cans of chili, can of corn, some cheddar chesse and jiff cornbread mixed with 3/4 cups of water per box dump it on top and bake. We also like mixing a few different kinds of beans, with a few veggies and a little sauce in the crockpot for a few hours. The kids love helping to make this! Its easy and tasty. This cookbook looks like a great one to have.

I have Gooseberry Patch cook books from 20+ years ago and they are still my favorites. One of my quick and easy recipes is crockpot spaghetti, which is a recipe from a Gooseberry cook book.
