If you have never grilled peaches, you’re in for a treat today! Grilling peaches is super-simple. Peaches are delicious on their own, and grilling brings out an extra sweetness that makes them so much better!
Step 1 – Prepare the Grill
You’ll want to grill the peaches over indirect heat. That means you want the grill nice and hot, but don’t put the peaches on the grate directly over the heat. If your grill has an upper rack, that’s the spot you want to use for grilling peaches. If your grill doesn’t have an upper rack, turn the heat off on one side of the grill, and use that side for your peaches.
Step 2 – Prepare the Peaches
Wash the peaches, cut them in half, and remove the stones. If you’re talented enough to remove the peach pits and keep your peaches in nice halves, you can grill them that way. I’m not that talented, and I always end up with my peaches cut in quarters. Quartered peaches are perfect for grilling, but you don’t want them any smaller than that. (They’ll fall through the grill grates.)
Once your peaches are cut, lightly brush the cut surfaces with oil. This is just to keep the peaches from sticking to the grill. You can use any oil you want. I recommend canola oil or vegetable oil because they have a very light flavor. You don’t want the flavor of the oil to overpower the flavor of the peaches!
Step 3 – Grill the Peaches
Place the oiled peaches, cut-side down, over indirect heat on your hot grill. Keep a close eye on the peaches. They don’t need to cook long! If your peaches are cut in quarters, grill them for 2-3 minutes on each cut side. If your peaches are cut in half, grill them for 3-5 minutes with the cut side down. If peaches are on the grill for too long, they’ll get overcooked, turn to mush, and fall apart, so pay close attention!
I usually recommend grilling with the grill lid closed. But grilled peaches cook very quickly, and you need to keep a close eye on them. So for grilling peaches, I recommend keeping your grill lid open.
Step 4 – Eat the Peaches!
Grilled peaches are delicious by themselves right off the grill. (Just let them cool off for a few minutes, they’re hot!) You can easily peel the skins off once they are cooked if you want, slice them up for a salad, use them as a side dish, or just a simple snack.
Enjoy!

Sounds truly tasty! I’ve not tried grilling them, or any other type of stonefruit, yet. That will be on a near future menu! Thanks.
