Do you love peaches? What about ice cream? If you love both of those summer flavors, you’ll absolutely love this easy-to-make Homemade Peach Ice Cream!

The peaches in our grocery store have been looking and smelling so good lately, I just haven’t been able to pass them up! It has been so hot here for the last few weeks I really needed a cool treat. So I used those beautiful peaches to make this delicious Homemade Peach Ice Cream!
I’ve made this peach ice cream with fresh peaches and with frozen peach slices. As long as your fresh peaches are nice and ripe, this ice cream is just as delicious, whether you use fresh or frozen peaches. (And the frozen sliced peaches are actually a little easier!)
If you’re using fresh peaches, remove the pits, peel them, and slice them into quarters. If you’re using frozen peaches, let 2 cups of frozen slices thaw on the counter for about an hour or in the refrigerator overnight. You want the frozen slices to still be a little bit frozen (they are easier to work with). Then toss the peach slices (fresh or frozen) into a food processor and pulse until you get the fruit to the size you like. We like a mix of smaller pieces and bigger pieces.
This recipe uses whole milk and heavy whipping cream. The more fat in the milk, the creamier the ice cream will be. You can use 2% milk, or even skim milk, but the ice cream will have a slightly different texture. If you are trying to cut down on fat or calories, this is a good place to do it. Just remember that your ice cream won’t be quite as creamy. You can use any combination of milks that you want, as long as the total is 2-1/4 cups.

Don’t be afraid to buy heavy whipping cream, even if you think you won’t use the entire container. You could use it to make this Easy Homemade Whipped Cream to put on top of your ice cream! Or you can just freeze it in cubes for the next time you want to make ice cream.
I love our countertop Cuisinart ice cream maker. This model makes just enough ice cream for a family. Really, John and I can finish it all in a single sitting…. but you probably shouldn’t do that. Realistically, it makes 4 good-sized servings of ice cream.
If you have leftovers, or if you want your ice cream frozen a little more solid, you’ll need a freezer-safe container to put your ice cream in. I absolutely love these Glide-a-Scoop tubs from Tovolo. They are just the right size to hold all the ice cream you made, and to fit in any spot in your (probably) already full freezer!
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Enjoy!

Homemade Peach Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 3 medium peaches pitted and peeled OR 2 cups of frozen peach slices
- 2/3 cup sugar
- Pinch salt
- 1-1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- If using fresh peaches, remove the pits, peel, and slice into quarters. If using frozen peaches, thaw on the counter for approximately 1 hour (or in the refrigerator overnight) until the peaches are nearly thawed.
- Place peaches in a food processor, and pulse until the desired consistency is reached. (If you want smaller pieces of fruit in your ice cream, processes the peaches longer. If you prefer larger pieces of fruit, only pulse a few times.) Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the sugar, salt, whole milk, and vanilla until most of the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the heavy whipping cream, and stir again.
- Carefully stir in the chopped peaches.
- Set up your ice cream maker, and add the ice cream mix according to the manufacturer's directions. For this Cuisinart countertop model, assemble and turn on the ice cream maker, then add the ice cream mix.
- Let churn until the ice cream freezes and thickens to the desired consistency (about 15 minutes).
- Serve immediately, or transfer to a freezer-safe container (I like these Tovolo Glide-a-Scoop tubs). The ice cream will freeze to a harder consistency in 1-2 hours in the freezer.

Can this recipe be doubled to make a larger batch?
Marybeth Feutz says
If your ice cream maker is big enough, yes it can! My ice cream maker won’t fit more than this, so I would have to make it twice… darn! 😉
