We love Rice Krispie treats around here. And I love even more that I can make them in my slow cooker! Yes, it does take a little more time than it takes to make them on the stove. But – I don’t have to babysit the marshmallows as closely while they are melting, and I’m much less worried about burning them! So it’s a win in my book!
We love these Chocolate Football Rice Krispie Treats, so we were looking for something else to do with Rice Krispies to make the treats even more fun. My son loves sprinkles and he loves colored mini marshmallows, so we decided to mix those all together for a seriously sugary snack.
We made our first batch of these live on Facebook… It didn’t exactly go according to plan. You can watch the action here:
I also busted out some food coloring to make these a beautiful green for spring. Use any food color you want, match the seasons, match a holiday, or just use your favorite color!
We had fun making them. Joseph had a blast with the sprinkles. And everyone had a great time eating them! The fruit-flavored mini marshmallows are a colorful surprise that everyone has loved.
Enjoy!
