We had another calf this week! We are still waiting on one more baby this season, but we are close to done with this year’s calving season. This little guy’s number is 8F06. He’s 8 because it’s 2018, F for Feutz (that’s us), and 06 because he’s the 6th calf born this year.

We’ve used this numbering system for a long time. So it’s possible that we could have a second cow with the same number, 8F06, who was born in 2008. (We don’t, but we easily could.) That really isn’t much of a big deal. It’s pretty easy to tell a 10-year-old cow apart from a 1-year-old cow! It’s even easy to tell them apart when they are 12 and 2 years old. After that, it can get a little more difficult from a distance, but when you have the girls up close you can still tell.

Did you catch that this calf is a little guy? Yep, it’s a boy. Out of 6 calves this year, 4 are boys. Last year we had all boys. The year before that, we had all but 1 boy. We are due for some little girls around here! We can’t figure out what is in the water that keeps giving us all bull calves! (Just kidding, there isn’t really anything in the water. It’s just super weird!)

School is wrapping up around here. But that doesn’t mean that things get any less busy! Here’s your weekly meal plan, chock full of easy and delicious recipes for you and your family!

Tip of the Week

This week’s tip is What’s the Difference Between Brown Eggs & White Eggs? Since this week’s breakfast recipe uses 10 eggs, I thought we might want to talk about eggs for a minute. Do you know what the difference is between brown and white eggs?
