There’s just something so warm and comforting about a classic dessert recipe like apple crisp! This recipe is so simple, it’s nearly foolproof… and it will impress all your family and friends!

Most crisp recipes ask you to mix up the dry ingredients, and then cut in the butter with a pastry blender. I hate cutting in butter. It’s a pain, it takes forever, it makes a big mess, and it hurts my wrists. If you really want to cut in butter the “regular” way, here are some tips for you.

But. If you’re like me and want a simple, fast, painless shortcut, I’ve got one for you!

All you need to do is use your food processor!

I get it. Food processors can be scary. Food can go from dry crumbs to practically liquid in a matter of seconds. But they really do make jobs like this so easy! Just put all the dry ingredients in the food processor. Then add the cold, sliced butter. Put the lid on, and pulse it a few times, just until the butter is incorporated and you’ve got what looks like some crumbs. That’s it! So simple, practically mess-free, and definitely painless.

And don’t worry about taking forever to chop up all those apples. Use this trick and you’ll be done in a snap!

Then get this dessert into your oven so you can eat it!

We like ours topped with Homemade Whipped Cream or Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. But it’s also delicious plain, hot out of the oven.

Enjoy!
