This Slow Cooker Chicken & Noodles is perfect to warm up after a long day playing outside in the cold, as a treat at the end of a long work day, or just anytime you want comforting chicken with creamy noodles!
There is just something about comfort food… and it seems to be even more comforting when your slow cooker does all the work for you!
This recipe is adapted from one in “Mom Knows Best” by Gooseberry Patch. I love this cookbook… every time I dig into it, I am reminded that Mom really does know best!
The part of this recipe that takes the longest is pulling the chicken off the bones and shredding it. You can use a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store, that’s super easy and time-saving. You can also make this Fall-Off-The-Bone Roast Chicken. This chicken is so tender, it literally falls right off the bone! Then you can pull it apart with your fingers, roughly chop it with a knife, pull it apart with forks, or shred it in your mixer. It all depends on what size you want your chicken chunks to be. We like a mix of big chunks and smaller shreds. Make it however you like it!
Top it off with a sprinkle of Lawry’s Seasoned Pepper and some chopped fresh parsley. You should probably add a salad or some chopped veggies, but I won’t tell if you don’t… (Because it’s possible that I didn’t…)
Enjoy!

This sounds yummy but I am a super smeller & taster and can’t stand the smell of yogurt never mind the taste. Could I just leave it out? I’d like to make this and we have some frozen chicken I could use with this.

If you leave out the yogurt, I would substitute in sour cream. That is what gives the “sauce” the creamy texture.

I bet some fresh or home canned green beans would be very tasty with this dish! Mom
