We have had our fair share of spring rains in the last few days… More than our fair share! We had over 6 inches of rain overnight last Friday night, another 2+ inches on Sunday, and plenty more since then! Our driveway and hay fields were under 4+ feet of water for most of the day on Saturday! Luckily we were all safe and dry, and there was plenty of time to play in the puddles between raindrops.
Walking outside is like walking on a wet sponge. The ground makes a squishy sound, and water seeps up around your shoes. Needless to say, there is lots and lots of mud! Even with the mud, the cows are comfortable. They have a warm, dry shed to go in when they want to get out of the wind and rain. When they want to come out to enjoy the little bit of sunshine or stretch their legs, they can do that, too. They actually don’t mind grazing out in the rain, as long as it isn’t too cold.
With all this cold weather, I’m craving some comfort food these days. This meal plan has the perfect combination of easy comfort foods and spring-type meals that you’ll find something to eat, no matter what the weather or your mood!
