Hot dogs are an important part of any tailgate party, right? But hot dogs with ketchup and mustard can get a bit boring. Dress plain hot dogs up with this easy Sweet Cooker Sweet Coney Sauce!
This recipe was inspired by one I found in Slow Cooking All Year ‘Round by Gooseberry Patch. This cookbook has tons of great slow cooker recipes!
I made this recipe in my awesome 6-quart Colts Crock-Pot. The big slow cooker wasn’t even half full. Next time I make this, I’ll either double the recipe (because you can never have too much coney sauce!) or use a smaller slow cooker.
There are 3 easy steps to this recipe. Brown ground beef and a chopped onion (use these tips to get your onion finely chopped in a hurry), drain some canned tomatoes, and toss everything into your slow cooker.
Then, kick back, relax, and enjoy the game and the party! Make your hot dogs your favorite way (make a big batch in a hurry with this idea from Recipes That Crock), slap them in a bun, and spoon this yummy coney sauce over the top. Grab some napkins, because you can never have too much coney sauce!
I like to use these Pepperidge Farms top-sliced buns. They keep your hot dogs from tipping over and spilling the delicious coney sauce all over the table.
You can get your favorite NFL team on a Crock-Pot, too! This is the Colts Crock-Pot I use all the time. They have plenty of other teams, go check it out!
Enjoy!
