Remodel Mondays – Floors

By Marybeth Feutz 11 Comments

Oh yes, we’re getting to that point in the remodel… Floors are going down!

We went with a vinyl flooring called Flexitec for a couple of the rooms in the house. We chose the same floor pattern and color to try to keep some of the consistency through the house (and it made for fewer decisions for me!)

We used the Flexitec floor in the mudroom…

And in the half bath off the kitchen…

And in the laundry room (but that photo didn’t come out good at all…)

And in the half bath in the hallway…

Can you believe that is the same exact floor? The paint colors in each room bring out a little different color in the floor and I just love the way it came out!

We chose ceramic tile for the master bathroom and the kitchen/dining area. The bathroom tiles are 12 inch tiles.

And the kitchen tiles are a little darker shade in an 18-inch tile. The guys still need to grout the tiles, but they have gotten so much work done!

The same tile (and wall color) extends out of the kitchen all the way down our (very long) hallway. All the bedrooms are off this hallway. There was no easy place to break the color or flooring, so we just kept on going!

We’re putting down new laminate hardwood in the new bedrooms, including the master bedroom. We are going to be able to salvage the original hardwood floors in the living room and what used to be our “master” bedroom. I’m pretty excited to have this brand-new house, but still the original hardwood floors in two of the rooms!

We’re getting close… it looks more like a house every day!

Enjoy choosing the materials for your new home. It isn’t something you do that often. It is looking good a good dust mop and you are good to go.

I think it will need a bit more than a dust mop before we’re ready to move it, but it is looking great!
