Shortly before Christmas, we moved our 3 year old out of his crib and into a “real” bed. He was pretty excited about the change! After the first night (of course, with his new-found freedom he had to get up every 5 minutes to go to the bathroom), the transition went pretty smoothly. Then, this weekend, we had our first nights in a big kid bed away from home.
All three of us went to Indianapolis for the Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmer’s Conference. So not only were we staying in a hotel (exciting) and riding the elevator (exciting!) and playing with lots of kids (exciting!!), it was also his first night in a big hotel bed all by himself (so exciting!!!). Needless to say, it was a long weekend and no one got much sleep.
So I wasn’t really surprised when he crashed out on the way home from school the other day, slept through me carrying him into the house, and was still sleeping over an hour later when I moved him to the bed.
What’s the point?
