This week has been a whirlwind! The weather changed (again) and we had a hard frost, complete with ice on the windshields. There was a lot of cooking, a lot of meetings, tons of errands, and a big Indiana Farm Bureau meeting on Thursday night. Phew!
By the way, have you ever tried to capture steam rising out of food in a photo? It’s harder than you think! The hard part is done – now head over here and find out how to keep the steam and the heat in your holiday foods while they are sitting out on the buffet table!
It’s been a long week, and I know I am going to need these easy, comfort food recipes to get me through the next one! Let’s see what’s on the menu for next week.

If the recipes on the days we listed don’t work for you, just shuffle them around. We did most of the legwork, now make it work for your family & kitchen!
We are starting this week with dessert. Why? Because we can!! Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies were made in memory of a dear friend who passed away much too soon. I know he would be proud of these cookies and, btw, they are fab!
Start your day with Desserts Required’s Anytime Rolls. You may want to double the batch because they will go quickly. They are also a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving table!
Kimmi’s Dairyland has a meal that is perfect for the holiday season. Kimmi’s Cranberry Meatloaf has the sweetness of cranberries, the comfort of traditional meatloaf and to finish it off, a hit of jalapeno from the jalapeno ketchup.
My Fearless Kitchen’s knows how to welcome chilly fall weather while letting us enjoy some free time, too. Her Crockpot Chili will make you forget all about those dropping temperatures.
Slow Cooker Beef and Vegetable Soup is a nice flavorful, hearty meal from Organized Island. It’s simple to put together with the help of ground beef, frozen vegetables and a slow cooker. Woohoo!
The Shirley Journey is sharing her Ham & Cheese Noodle Skillet. This one-pot meal is a breeze to make and clean-up from dinner is even easier. Plus, it combines classic flavors for a very happy meal!
The Crumby Kitchen has a terrific idea with her Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Flatbread. This hearty flatbread is topped with fresh grilled chicken, toasted pecans, and a simple strawberry caprese which helps make this recipe delicious & healthy.
Take the weekend off, enjoy your leftovers, or eat out. We’ll be testing more recipes for you in our own kitchens!
