The calendar might not say it, but summer is over. My son told me that just this morning! “Mommy, school started so it’s not summer anymore.” We’re having another humid week this week, but at least it has stayed 90 degrees and below!
School starting also means that football season (and tailgate season!) is starting, too! John and I had the chance to go to last Sunday’s pre-season Colts game, thanks to the Indiana Soybean Alliance. We got to watch the pre-game warm-ups from the sidelines – how cool is that!
I’m dusting off some tried-and-true tailgate recipes, and polishing up some new ideas. Here is my list of 15 Easy Tailgate Recipes, ready to go! Be sure to pin it so you can find them when you’re ready for tailgating fun.
Speaking of tailgating, have you entered the Colts Best Tailgate Recipe Contest yet? You should – there are some amazing prizes!
Now, let’s get onto the recipes for dinners this week.

If the recipes on the days we listed don’t work for you, just shuffle them around. We did most of the legwork, now make it work for your family & kitchen!
Start your day with Desserts Required’s Grilled Nutella Banana Mascarpone Cheese. I know that this is not your usual breakfast but when you think about it, this sandwich has all that you need to charge at whatever tasks lie ahead.
Kimmi’s Dairyland has a meal that is perfect for starting your week. Kimmi’s Rosemary Baked Halibut is easy peasy to put together and the rosemary is wonderful with this fish.
My Fearless Kitchen’s Freeze and Bake Lasagna is one you won’t want to skip. I recommend doubling this recipe. One for now and one for the freezer. Win/Win!
Crockpot Chicken with Green Chilis from Organized Island is another quick and easy recipe that is perfect for summer. Throw everything together and, voila, dinner is ready!
The Shirley Journey is sharing her Salsa Steak Sandwich. Throw the steak on the grill and then top with Christina’s deconstructed salsa. Fabulous any night of the week.
The Crumby Kitchen has a terrific idea with her Bacon Cheeseburger Zucchini Boats. They are kind of like the best of burgers without the bread, and the cheddar bechamel sauce is da bomb!
I have a fabulous dessert option this week; Desserts Required’s Gooey Marshmallow Monstrosity Cups. The combination of gigantic marshmallows with peanut butter cream cookies and gooey brownie batter is outrageous!
Take the weekend off, enjoy your leftovers, or eat out. We’ll be testing more recipes for you in our own kitchens!
