Verizon Wireless G’zOne Phone

By Marybeth Feutz 1 Comment

Farmer Doc had the chance to test drive this Casio G’zOne phone from Verizon Wireless. This is a rugged, nearly indestructible phone as-is, without an extra case. Because it doesn’t need a protective case to keep it safe from the occasional drop, Farmer Doc was much happier with the size of this phone.

Because it is a little smaller than the Droid RAZR MAXX that he normally uses (RAZR on the left, G’zOne on the right in the photo below), it fit in his shirt pocket better. He didn’t have to fight quite so hard to get it in and out of his pocket. On the flip side, that also meant that the phone fell out of his pocket a few times. But, because the phone is so rugged, he was never worried about breaking the phone when he did drop it. (Which happened plenty.)

Farmer Doc is very hard on his phones. The staff at our local Verizon Wireless store knows him well enough that when he gets a new phone they won’t let him leave without a big Otterbox case. With this G’zOne phone, that wasn’t a concern. The phone itself is so tough that it doesn’t need any extra protection! In the photo below, his regular phone – the Droid RAZR MAXX – is on the left. The G’zOne phone, after 2 months of use, is on the right.

Farmer Doc almost got this phone covered in cow poop on one of his farm calls. Lucky for the next person who gets this demo phone, he didn’t. But even if the cow poop did happen (so to speak), he wasn’t worried about that “ruining” the phone, all because of how it is built!

One of his favorite features was the flashlight widget. Farmer Doc uses the flashlight on his phone all the time. It comes in really handy for a quick check of the cows at night, or for when Baby Doc throws his pacifier in the void under the couch.

Since this phone was used to take the very first pictures of Baby Doc, it will always be a very special phone for us. Winking smile

My husband is an electrician and swears by this phone. Its been run over by the work van, dropped from a 16 ft ladder, dropped in the mud, and swam with. It will even take pictures underwater. He will never use another phone.
