Remodel Mondays – Work in progress

By Marybeth Feutz 4 Comments

We’ve been moved in for three weeks, and we’re still in the process of getting cleaned up, unpacked, and settled in. I almost wish we had waited another week to move in so the little projects could really get finished, and I had some time to get the construction mess cleaned up. I have vacuumed and mopped these floors a million times since we moved in, and there’s always more mess to clean up!

So… still in progress… and quite a bit cluttered, for now… The eat-in kitchen with the china cabinet and the breakfast bar.

We have about a mile of counter space, and I have managed to fill it up! I have used all five burners on the stove, and both ovens already! I love cooking on my new stove!

The giant refrigerator has been fantastic, and I drink so much more water now that it’s easily accessible in the door of the refrigerator. We brought the fish tank back from the apartment, and it’s set up in the hallway (next to where most of the cats eat).

The half bathroom off the hallway is Leo’s bathroom. He’s still on his special diet to keep his kidneys healthy, and he eats by himself in here. Poor Leo.

My office is getting there, but I still need to move in my bookshelves and a filing cabinet. It’s functional, but a bit messy right now.

The full bathroom on the hallway is getting there. The only thing we need to do here is hang a couple of shelves in the closet. We bought the local hardware store out of the brackets we need, so we’re waiting for them to get more in stock.

The master bath is just about unpacked… I have managed to stash lots and lots of stuff in these cabinets!

Oh, and the master closet… Hubby Doc claims that his dorm room in college was about this size. I think he’s exaggerating a little bit… But holy cow it’s huge! I love it!

Slowly but surely, we’re getting things unpacked and put together. I’ve been working on cleaning, paint touch ups, and little projects here and there. I’m hosting my book club here the second week in June, so I need to be entertaining-ready in about a month!
