Our county fair is this week, which means that we practically live at the fairgrounds all week long. And our son isn’t even old enough for 4-H yet! Although he did get the chance to “show” a pig after the 4-H show was over. He loved it!
And you can’t forget the carnival… thank goodness for unlimited ride arm bands, it’s tough to get this kid away from the rides! He loves the little roller coaster. This year he is tall enough to ride one of the big rides, but only with an adult. I was not prepared for the spinny, up-and-down ride. Of course, that is his new favorite ride!
What would a fair be without all the fair food? We have been eating at the fair a lot this week, and I am ready for a giant salad or two after this! So let’s see what we have in store for you with this week’s easy meal plan.
Easy Weekly Meal Plan #28
If the recipes on the days we listed don’t work for you, just shuffle them around. We did most of the legwork, now make it work for your family & kitchen!
Feeling a little spicy? This Shakshuka dish (Eggs in Purgatory) from The Crumby Cupcake will calm your heat craving! Spicy tomato sauce bathes these cheesy eggs, but don’t forget the avocado and crusty bread!
Fancy is as fancy does – and this Mushroom Spinach Chicken with White Wine Sauce from The Crumby Cupcake is about as fancy as a weeknight meal gets! The good news is it doesn’t take as long as you might think to make!
Fire up those grills – it’s steak night! My Fearless Kitchen really jazzes up these T-Bone Steaks with Compound Butter, doesn’t she? And those fries! Don’t forget the fries!!
Quick weeknight dinners are where it’s at! It’s still the dog days of summer, but The Shirley Journey already has back to school on her mind! Her Maple Baked Chicken Bites are not only great for easy suppers, they’ll make great apps come football season!
The week is almost over…how about some MexiCorn Chowder from Organized Island tonight? In less than an hour, you can settle down to this lovely, summery soup with your family!
In the mood for summer & fall in one bite? Kimmi’s Dairyland’s Pork Sliders with Apple Butter are just the thing to get your mind on cooler weather!
Raspberry Liqueur Chocolate Raspberry Cake from Desserts Required is something you need in your life! Feel free to leave the liqueur out if you’re sharing with the kids, but it’s amazing with a big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!
Take the weekend off, enjoy your leftovers, or eat out. We’ll be testing more recipes for you in our own kitchens!
