  • Cut French bread into 1-inch cubes and place in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk, and vanilla. Whisk well to combine.
  • Pour egg mixture over bread cubes and toss to coat.
  • In another bowl, mix blackberries with sugar. Toss to coat well.
  • With a silicone scraper, gently fold blackberries into the bread mixture.
  • Lightly grease a 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Transfer bread mixture to slow cooker.
  • Lay several layers of paper towels over the top of the slow cooker, then cover with the lid.
  • Cook on high for 2.5-3 hours.
  • Let sit, uncovered, for 5 minutes before serving.
