Oh itchy tree, oh itchy tree

…your leaves are very itchy.

Last year, after we decorated our Christmas tree I noticed that my arms were a little itchy.

This year, it was worse.

I put the lights back farther between the branches, so I’m sticking my arms in and out of the tree the whole time I’m putting lights on. And I put on either 4 or 6 strands, I don’t remember which.

While I was working on the lights, I realized that I was getting a little itchy, but didn’t think much of it. When I was almost done with the lights, I noticed these great red bumps, all the way up to my elbow on both arms.

Of course, in our temporary apartment, I didn’t move our whole medicine cabinet. And I had run out of working Christmas lights, anyway. So I did an emergency 9:00pm run to the CVS for some Benadryl and colored lights. (And I got stuck by a train. But that’s a subject for a later post.)

I think the tree came out looking pretty good, considering I didn’t even go pick it out until December 12. (Not much selection in the “cut your own tree” lots that late in the month…)

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

You are probably allergic to it. My mom became that way, and that is why we now have artificial ones in our homes. I so miss the smell, but I guess that is what Bath and Body Works Evergreen plugins are for. See you soon! 😉
