Course Breakfast
Servings 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons vanilla
  • 2 cups blackberries
  • Optional: extra blackberries and sugar for garnish

Instructions

  • In a heat-safe bowl, combine all ingredients. (I use the largest bowl from this set.)
  • Place the bowl inside a 6-quart Crock-Pot. (It fits perfectly inside this Crock-Pot.)
  • Pour 4-6 cups of water inside the crock, but outside the bowl with the oatmeal ingredients. You are creating a double-boiler effect inside your slow cooker.
  • Cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Gently stir.
  • Top individual servings with more blackberries and sugar, if desired.
