Make cinnamon apples even better with this easy recipe for DIY Cinnamon Apple Strips. Crisp, sweet, and oh-so-yummy, they are perfect for fall or anytime!
Using a brush, brush both sides of each tortilla strips with melted butter.
Reserving 3 Tablespoons of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, sprinkle one side of the tortilla strips with cinnamon-sugar (use more or less depending on your preference).
Bake tortilla strips at 350 degrees for 5-8 minutes. Remove before tortillas become crunchy (they will continue to "crisp up" as they cool). Let cool on the baking sheet.
While tortilla strips are baking, pour the apple pie filling into a small saucepan.
Add 3 Tablespoons of cinnamon-sugar to the apple pie filling and mix well.
Use a mix and chop (or wooden spoon) to cut the apples into smaller pieces.
Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until heated through.
Serve hot apple pie filling with tortilla strips topped with extra cinnamon-sugar.
If desired, add vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
