Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Is it dessert or is it breakfast? This Slow Cooker Apple-Cinnamon French Toast has all the flavors of an apple pie, perfect for brunch on a cool fall weekend.

  • Cut French bread into 1-inch cubes and place in a large bowl.
  • Core and peel apple and cut into bite-size pieces. Add to French bread.
  • Add pecans to French bread and apples.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine eggs, milk, and apple pie spice. Whisk to combine.
  • Add brown sugar to egg mixture and stir well.
  • Pour egg mixture over bread mixture and stir well.
  • Lightly spray a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Transfer bread mixture to slow cooker.
  • Cover the slow cooker with 6-8 layers of paper towels.
  • Put the lid on the slow cooker (over the paper towels) and cook on high for 2.5-3 hours. French toast is done when it is set in the middle, and a toothpick or knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Serve immediately.
