This protein-packed Cheesy Bacon Breakfast Casserole will get your sleepy heads out of bed and ready for breakfast in a hurry! Prep it ahead of time, and it's perfect for your busy mornings.

  • 8 slices bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 2-1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 pound bacon cooked crisp


  • Cut or tear bread into 1-inch pieces. Spread bread in the bottom of a lightly greased 9x13 pan.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, crack eggs, milk, and salt. Whisk well to combine.
  • Add cheese to egg mixture and mix.
  • Cut or crumble bacon into bite-size pieces. Spread bacon evenly over the bread in the baking pan.
  • Pour egg mixture over the bacon and bread.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. or until the internal temperature reaches at least 160 degrees, measured with a meat thermometer.
  • Let stand for 3-5 minutes before cutting and serving.

To prepare ahead:

  • Prepare as instructed above through step 5.
  • Cover the prepared casserole dish with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate.
  • Remove casserole dish from refrigerator and uncover while the oven is preheating.
  • Cook, as directed above, until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees. (May need a longer cooking time.)
