Ingredients
  

For the filling:

  • 4-5 medium apples (about 4 cups chopped)
  • 1 14-ounce can whole berry cranberry jelly
  • 1 cup granualted sugar

For the topping:

  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Core, peel, and chop the apples. You need about 4 cups of chopped apples
  • In a large saucepan, combine the apples and cranberry sauce.
  • Add 1 cup sugar to the cranberries and apples.
  • Heat over medium heat until warmed through.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg and vanilla. Mix in the melted butter.
  • Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until combined.
  • Transfer the heated filling to a 9x9 baking pan.
  • Spoon the dough for the topping evenly over the filling.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 50-60 minutes, until the topping is golden brown.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
