Stick it in a taco shell and eat it like a taco.
Put it on a hamburger bun and eat it like a sloppy joe.
Or just eat it straight out of the Crock-Pot with a spoon! (Just be careful, it’s hot!)
And it’s the perfect recipe for a tailgate party! This recipe doubles (or triples) easily, so you can make as much as you want. Grab your team’s Crock-Pot here and a handy logo picnic tote here, and you’re all set to take your tailgate on the road!
I love using my Crock-Pot and tote to take meals out to the field when John is busy fixing fence or putting up hay. He’s got to go-go-go when the weather is right, so he doesn’t usually have much time to come home for lunch. We need to keep a close eye on the weather during hay season. The goal is to get the hay cut, dried, baled, and put away before it rains. Most of the time we make it. Sometimes we misjudge and things get a little wet.
So to try to save some time (and some hay) I load up everything for lunch in the back of my SUV and head out to him in the field. Our son loves coming on these rides, too! Whether your tailgate is the back of a pickup truck or the back of an SUV, in a hayfield or a cornfield, in your backyard or your living room or the parking lot of an NFL stadium, make sure these Slow Cooker Taco-Style Sloppy Joes are on the menu!
Enjoy!
